This object appears to be biological in nature. It is not covered by the local dust, so it must be new at this location. Perhaps it is a part of the rover or lander? If you know the answer, please post a comment. The Curiosity rover team is so far saying they expect it is just a piece of plastic that came off of the rover - they are investigating further. www.msl-chemcam.com This very interesting object was photographed by the Mars Curiosity Rover on Sol 65 using the Mars Hand Lens Imager. There are six images of the object which were used to make the motion - basically showing the object over time and from two different angles. The black pixels that appear to move during the image may well be bad pixels - I am still unsure. The apparent movement of light may be due to the photographs being taken at different times of the day, with differing reflections of sunlight. mars.jpl.nasa.gov The object was discovered by "Sunsflare." | Views: 17 ![]() 1 ratings | |
